BHSC (NATUROPATHY), DIP. BEAUTY THERAPY, CERT. SPA MANAGEMENT
I made the decision to pursue naturopathy because I genuinely want to help people listen to and understand their bodies in order to optimise their health and wellbeing. I was always interested in health and even from a young age knew I wanted to eventually open a holistic health and spa business.
I have struggled with chronic migraines, an impaired immune system and digestive issues in the past and know how frustrating and painful it can be to seek out answers and relief to no avail. Naturopathy is what ultimately helped me heal and thrive, and allowed me to embark on a learning journey of all things nutrition, herbal medicine and general human biology. I soon realised that I had found my passion.
My professional background and tertiary education started with a Business Administration Diploma immediately after high school where I majored in small business management and entrepreneurship.
After working in the corporate and hospitality industries for a number of years, I completed a Beauty Therapy Diploma while working at a skin clinic and spa in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. I went on to work full-time as a beauty and massage therapist where the majority of my clients suffered from various skin conditions that were a result of internal health issues including, but not limited to, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances and an unhealthy diet, which could not be resolved with topical products and treatments alone.
Beauty therapy is rewarding work but I soon understood that I was more interested in my clients’ symptoms and health markers that often appeared well before they booked a skin treatment.
I am so grateful that the pursuit of a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy has now set me up to lead a private practice where I offer in-person and online consultations using naturopathic principles, and tailor treatment plans to address my clients’ concerns. My special interests include pain management, mental health, digestive and skin issues, family and women’s health and chronic autoimmune conditions.
